My story
Hi, I’m Dave. I started in the mid-80s building outside-broadcast trucks and mobile TV studios. By ’89 I was working in high-res projection and AV hire for businesses like IBM, Microsoft and Sun, running big roadshows from time to time and learning radio mics on the fly.
In 1995 I joined Atmospheric, the health-club installer of the day, installing club-wide music systems, TV networks, Cardio Theatre and Audeon systems, and two or three studios at every new LA Fitness, Esporta and Cannons club plus plenty of independents. That’s where the Wheelie System was conceived: a complete aerobics rig for spacious studios, with a full 120 watts RMS powered mixer, Denon CD/tape decks and a Trantec mic system, all in a wheeled flight case and paired with wall-mounted TOA 12-inch speakers. Some are still doing the business nearly 30 years later.
When Atmospheric folded, I spent 2004–07 with XS Broadcasting, providing the inside knowledge to launch Kick TV, a music-video channel made for gyms to the UK fitness market. In 2008 I set up Pulse Sound & Vision and returned to supporting fitness operators with background-music, PA systems, , specialist Ledsnap lighting and high-spec studio systems.
Pulse Sound & Vision has traded ever since. Aeromic UK is the site devoted to instructor only kit. Your go-to place for head-mics, belts, windshields, plus dedicated studio mixers and Bluetooth receivers from Fitness Audio, the maker of Aeromic.
Lockdown brought a new challenge, and some unexpected fun: long evenings on Zoom helping instructors go online. Webcams, USB mixers, audio routing and matching headsets to packs so classes could keep moving from your front room.
By the end of 2024 I’d arranged with JP in Sydney, the man behind the Aeromic, to bring the brand into the UK properly. That became Aeromic UK: reliable fitness mics, correct connectors, quick local support.
